This course is suitable for site operatives and scaffolding labourers, including those that need to renew their card upon expiry. It provides basic skills and knowledge with regard to industry safe practice and procedure for those working around scaffolding. It is also suitable for workers who have to utilise other access devices.

All of the course content will be taught in a classroom setting by a skilled and knowledge professional from the construction industry. As well as studying alone, you will be asked to take part in group study. Assessment will be on your classroom activity plus your score on a multiple-choice test.
Upon completion of the course successfully, including the test, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance. Once you have then completed the CITB HS&E test also, you will be able to apply for your first or renewed CISRS Labourer Card. You need to apply for your card 6 months after completing the course. It is valid for a 5 year period after which you will need to renew it by taking the course again.
Many students go on to take the CISRS Scaffolding Labourer’s course which also provides a Card. You can also look at taking the courses for the CISRS Part 1 and Part 2; completion of these will allow you to apply for your Red CISRS Card (Trainee).
You can take the CISRS Operative Training Course even if you have little knowledge of access equipment safety training. Where renewal of the Card is involved, qualified workers can take the course. You need to also have good knowledge of English.
