CISRS Part 2

What is the course?

The CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme) Part 2 course gives you a qualification long established as the industry recognised training for scaffolding. CISRS qualifications are preferred by house builders, the HSE, unions and scaffold system manufacturers. Our ten day training expands and reinforces the skills learned on CISRS Scaffolding Part 1 and at least six months on site experience you’ve gained since passing Part 1.

Course content

The skills and knowledge you learn on this course include:

  • Proper use of pavement gantry, splay, loading bay, protective fan, truss-out, roof and pre-fabricated beam scaffold types
  • Compliance with all applicable regulations including:- TG20, BS EN12811-1 and SG4
  • Setting anchors for tie testing
  • Building an NVQ/SVQ portfolio

How is the course taught and assessed?

You will be taught all the skills needed to erect, dismantle and make alterations to common types of scaffolding safely. You learn through a combination of classroom study and extensive team based practical exercises.

Your knowledge and skills are assessed using both practical tests and written, multiple choice tests.

What qualification will I receive?

On successful completion of the course you are awarded a CISRS Scaffolding Part 2 certificate, valid for life.

What can I do next?

A CISRS Scaffolding Part 2 certificate enables you to renew your Red (Trainee Scaffolder) CISRS Card (note this can only be renewed once).

Once you have obtained Part 1 and Part 2, your Scaffolding NVQ L2 or higher and passed your CISRS Skills Test you are eligible for your Blue (Scaffolder) CISRS Card.

Entry requirements

To take the CISRS Scaffolding Part 2 course you must have:

  • Six months scaffolding experience working on site since passing the CISRS Scaffolding Part 1 course
  • The physical ability to ascend and descend ladders, and handle both scaffold poles and boards
  • Fluent written and spoken English
