This CPCS A04 Tower Crane course is taught through a combination of practical work and theory. Assessment is by both practical and theory tests.
Our tower crane course is suitable both for those who have received no formal training on tower crane operation and existing operators looking for a course that will refresh your skills and knowledge.
Two different endorsements are taught, specific to the type of machinery in operation:
Following successful completion of this course, trainees receive certification from the CITB National Construction College. The CPCS Red Trained Operator Card is awarded once CPCS technical tests have been successfully completed.
To be eligible for this course you must have passed a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) test no more than two years before your course date. You also need a good understanding of both written and spoken English, and must be comfortable working at height.
Successful completion of the CPCS A04 Tower Crane course makes you eligible to progress to the Slinger/Signaller course, Crane Supervisor course, Appointed Person course, or study for the CPCS Blue Competent Operator card.
