The course intends to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills that they need to operate a Forward Tipping Dumper safely and effectively. It is the first step to passing the CPCS Theory and Practical certification.
People taking this course will learn through practical exercises and classroom-based tutorials. There are theory and practical tests.
This course is ideal for existing and potential operators who have had no formal training, or who require an update to their training. It is suitable for those with less than 3 years industry experience, or 2 years experience operating a Forward Tipping Dumper.
There are two specific subtypes available to operatives on this course:
Depending on the level of experience for candidates the course length differs. For novice candidates the length of the course is four days, for semi-experienced it is three days and for experienced candidates the course length is just two days.
The course provides foundation training for operatives seeking a Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) Red Trained Operator Card.
You will need to have successfully completed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test in the last two years. You must also have a good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
The next step is to undertake the completion of courses to be awarded the certification as a Red Trained Operator within CPCS.
