The CPCS A56 course is suitable for operatives looking for basic foundation training. At the same time, it illustrates how to maintain and operate this type of articulated-chassis truck. The main aim of the course is to impart candidates with sufficient knowledge to know how to operate this type of dumper in the right way and without harm.
This particular course is presented via a mix of classroom-based lessons and practical activities. At the end of the course, you will be assessed via a practical exam as well as a theory test.

In order to apply for a place on this course, you must have already passed (during the 2 years prior) a CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Test. You also need a good understanding of written and spoken English.
Once you have completed this course, you can look at taking a Level 2 NVQ/SVQ Assessment, working towards your CPCS Blue Competent Operator card.
