The Pedestrian Operated Tower Crane course gives you the theory and practical knowledge to operate a Pedestrian Operated Crane safely and effectively. It is a step towards candidates successfully passing their CPCS Tests.
The course takes four or five days to complete. There are both discussions of the theory and practical elements. Assessment is carried out via both practical and theory exams.
This course is ideal for existing and potential operators of Pedestrian Operated Tower Cranes and those with no formal training.
There are two specific subtypes of machinery available to candidates on this course:
If you are successful, at the end of the course you will receive the CITB National Construction College certificate. Once the CPCS Technical Tests are passed, you will receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card.
You will need to have successfully completed a CITB Health, safety and environment (HS&E) test in the last two years. You must also have a good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
Upon completion of the course candidates may with to consider courses for the roles of Telescopic Handler, Slinger/Signaller, Crawler Crane or for the Competent Operator Card.
