The PASMA Work at Height Essentials (WAH) course is designed for everyone who works at height, whether that is the supervisors and managers or the operatives themselves.
The course provides the operators with vital information on how to safely work and operate at height under the applicable legislation. Furthermore, the course offers an insight into the proper use of other forms of access equipment.
The course contains the following:
The course is delivered by a highly trained construction professional over the duration of half a day. The course consists of a theory session with practical guidance on how to safely use the equipment and an assessment session where the participants have to prove what they’ve learnt.
Should you pass the test at the end of the course, you are awarded with a PASMA Certificate of Competence. Additionally you will receive a Photo ID Card which is valid for the next five years.
Upon receiving the PASMA Certificate of Competence, you may try to achieve certifications on other types of equipment and procedures. There is an extensive range of taught courses to choose from and get you certified on how to use and supervise various types of machinery and equipment.
While there are no specific requirements, the fact that the operatives have to undertake physically challenging tasks, means that you should be in good health and physically fit, generally not have problems or issues with your eyesight, hearing, heart disease or blood pressure.
Furthermore, abstaining from the course is advised if you suffer from epilepsy, fear of heights/vertigo, balance difficulties, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug abuse and any psychiatric illness.
Fluency in spoken and written English is necessary as well.
