The Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher Site Safety Plus is a course that runs over a single day. It updates individuals, based in supervisory roles within the construction industry, on their legal responsibilities in relation to health, safety, welfare of their workforce and environmental issues.
The SSSTS Refresher Course is delivered through a combination of analysis of case studies, classroom discussion and individual and group presentations. Assessment takes place throughout the day, and at the end of the course students are expected to undertake a multiple-choice exam.
Applicants to this course must hold a valid Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate. They must be either holding down roles as supervisors or applying for this type of role.
Successful candidates will be awarded a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.
Individuals who hold the Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate must take this refresher course before their existing certificate expires (the certificate is valid for a 5 year period). Applicants must also have a good understanding of both written and spoken English.
Once you have successfully completed the SSSTS Refresher, you may want to take the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
