The IPAF Harness Use and Inspection (H) course is taught over the course of half a day and gives the necessary knowledge to individuals who are employed to use a boom-type MEWP. The course outlines the specifics on how to use and inspect a safety harness whilst on-board and/or operating a Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP).

The IPAF Harness Use and Inspection (H) course is taught over half a day and utilises both classroom teaching and practical exercises. Delegates will be assessed via a written test at the end of the course and through their application during the practical exercises.
For those individuals who already hold an IPAF PAL card, passing this course will enable them to add the Harness (H) category to their card. This certification will then be valid for the next 5 years. Individuals who do not hold an IPAF Operator’s License will be awarded a training certificate.
There are a number of options for those who have successfully completed the IPAF Harness Use and Inspection (H) course. These include the IPAF MEWPs for Managers certification as well as a number of categories that can be added to an IPAF Operator’s License or PAL card.
All delegates must be passed medically fit to work at height and be fluent in written and spoken English. To enable participation, all delegates must bring their own personal protection equipment (PPE), including safety footwear and helmet.
